What does it mean to be on the Board of Directors?
Regular board meetings are held on a monthly basis. Additional meetings of the full board or committees may be held from time to time dependent on current projects.
Throughout the year there are training opportunities as well as other meetings which may occur from time to time that board members may be asked to participate in. Through our affiliation with SARC, there are several continuing education opportunities available to board members as well.
If you are passionate about individuals with disabilities being included in our community and enjoying the best quality of life possible – you may want to think about applying!
Applications are accepted throughout the year on an ongoing basis. We have a brief application form we ask you to complete so you can share some details about yourself. This is then reviewed by the existing board and approvals are done by motion at a regular meeting. It should be noted that providing a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance is a mandatory requirement of all volunteers.
There is an orientation process that a new board member must go through in order to learn more about our organization. This is done by the Executive Director as well as a member of the Board of Directors.
Please contact the Executive Director for an application form.
