What does it mean to be on the Board of Directors?
Regular board meetings are held monthly in the evening, other than in December and July. They are typically two hours or less and include a meal. Additional meetings of the full board or committees may be held from time to time dependent on projects, etc.
Throughout the year there are training opportunities as well as other meetings which may occur from time to time that board members may be asked to participate in if they are able.

Applications are accepted throughout the year on an ongoing basis. We have a brief application form we ask you to complete so you can share some details about yourself. This is then reviewed by the existing board. Approvals are done by motion at a regular meeting. It should be noted that providing a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance is a mandatory requirement of all volunteers.
There is an orientation process that a new board member must go through in order to learn more about our organization. This is done by the Executive Director as well as a member of the Board of Directors.
